Bryan Archibald is a Native of Norfolk, Virginia who comes from a single parent mother, Miranda Archibald, with a twin sister, Bryana Sinclair-Archibald, and two brothers, Lemond & Kevon Archibald. While living in "Young's Park," and watching his siblings active in Football, and Cheerleading, Archibald realized his passion for singing at the tender age of 5 singing, "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star," which later transformed into "His Eye is on the Sparrow." Since then, Archibald's opportunities to perform on various and different types of stages helped him inquire other artistic and personal skills that shaped him to be the human being that he is today. When he attended Maury High School, he auditioned for The Governor's School for the Arts(G.S.A), Department of Musical Theatre. Before getting accepted into G.S.A, there were only two musicals that he been pre-knowledge about. "Little Shop Of Horrors," and "Dreamgirls." After three (3) years and very few performances with G.S.A, he discontinued his training with G.S.A and focused more so on individual private coaching with Voice and Acting. While a student in G.S.A, he realized his strong natural ability to dance and move at the level of his peers in the Dance Department. With the approval of Todd Rosenlieb, he was granted work- study with his Company where he took many classes of many different genres. Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip-Hop & Modern.
Once Archibald graduated from Maury High School, he auditioned and was accepted into Howard University's Musical Theatre Class of 2017. While a student at Howard, Archibald was truly able to cultivate and develop his artistic abilities under reputable instructors such as Patrice Thomas, Zackery Royce, Raymond Caldwell, Dwayne Murry and a host of other guest instructors who were prominent in the program and the success of the students. During his Sophomore year at Howard, Archibald had the opportunity to Understudy his first lead role in Oscar Award Winner, Tarell Alvin McCraney's production of "Choir Boy" performed at Studio Theatre. He played such roles as, "Gregory Robinson," in THE BUBBLY BLACK GIRL SHED HER CHARMELEON SKIN. The Role of "Sailor Jack Douglas Bowles ,in NOT ABOUT NIGHTINGALES. "Andre De-Shields" in AIN'T MISBEHAVIN. "Kamal," in RAILINGS and lastly a "Principle Dancer" in UNJUST. While Archibald was a Musical Theatre major, he successfully tested into the Music program off of pure self-teaching, as a Piano minor under the tutelage of Karen Walwyn as a classical pianist. While having the opportunity to U/S in Choir Boy, Archibald worked along-side Darius Smith who enlightens him about the style of music that influenced the musical Gospel Arrangements in Choir-Boy. With that information fully considered, Archibald changed his emphasis from classical piano to Jazz Piano under the tutelage of Cyrus Chestnut. "
On May 13th, 2017, Archibald became the first in his family to attend and graduate from college, Howard University, - known to many far and near as the Mecca of Black Excellence. One of many noteworthy accomplishments to notate. Though Archibald's come's from a single parent household who faced many difficult challenges, his mother introduced her brother and children to an organization that is prominent in the communities & believe in uplifting like-minded individuals who share similar goals and interest. While members of the Order Of Eastern Star & Masonry, Archibald was exposed to those like-minded individuals that would not only have a strong positive impact on his outcome and support with his academic endeavors, but exposed him to other organizations aside from O.E.S/Masonry. Attending Howard University creates future leaders in various fields but also plays a vital role in shaping individuals to perform acts deemed as, "Service beyond Self."
